Ionic shows: To start download the Fitbit app

Hi

 

My ionic stopped working completely in Dec with just black screen and would not connect to phone or another laptop. I tried various solutions provided to others in the forums and have now got it to stage where it will connect but still won't go past the "to start download the fitbit app" screen. I have tried to update to the latest version (both over Bluetooth and WiFi) but this always fails after installation so I am stuck. I have also tried changing the clock faces and holding down various combinations of buttons. 

 

What can I do to fix this?? 

 

At the moment I just have an expensive bracelet that occasionally lights up. I have the ionic since Feb 2019 so don't really expect something to just stop working in less than 2 years.

Hi

 

Did a another 2 or 3 resets then paired the fitbit with a brand new laptop which seemed to wake it up. Managed to then do the firmware update and paired back to my phone. Going to try it out running tomorrow and see if it works properly.

Based on the information that was shared in your post, it seems that your Ionic was unexpectedly unpaired from your Fitbit account and this is the reason why it's showing such message in its display. That said, I recommend you to check all the information that's specified on: How do I set up my Fitbit device? to check if all the requirements are correctly configured to setup your device.

 

Then, you can move forward and try the troubleshooting steps that are specified on: Why can't I set up my Fitbit device? and let me know how it goes.
