I noticed fairly immediately after purchasing my Ionic that the steps appeared to be lower, but I thought it might just be me. I know have nearly three months of trended data and I have confirmed that the Ionic is showing significantly fewer steps than my old Blaze. Has anyone else experienced this?

Do a step test. Walk 100 paces on open ground in a normal walking pace (count the steps) and check how many the Ionic says you did. It should be within + or - 5 steps.

Every watch does not have the same step count, they are all different. Have a Garmin Vivomove hr and Steel sport and fitbit ionic also and all dont count steps the same.
Found Garmin and fitbit give lots of false steps and counting my steps with all 3, the steel is the most accurate, but runs into trouble pushing a trolley, wont count both garmin and fitbit over estimate steps.
So basically step counting dies not work to well, and depending on arm movements will count as steps.

@Denodan @sport4life @NellyG It's great to see you in the Fitbit Community.
If the Fitbit Ionic is recording just a few steps, please make sure that you have set your wrist as non-dominant. You can find this option by going online to fitbit.com > Settings > Devices > Wrist. Sync your device after making any change to your Fitbit account.
If this doesn't help, you can perform a restart by following these steps.
@NellyG Thanks for your support.
