Ionic step count and distance walked way too low

My ionic isn’t counting my steps accurately, I always seem to be way shorter on my steps on the tracker vs when I count it myself or compared to Apple Watch. I have also noticed when walking it will say I walked around 0.2 miles when I have actually walked like 1.8-2 miles. sometimes the step count is off by 1,000 steps and sometimes it’s only off by a couple hundred. How do I fix this ?!

I've only had my Ionic a week but am starting to think it counts less steps than the Surge I had previously. I need to do some comparisons with both watches together and track the difference.

@jst1986 I had the charge HR in the past before I got the Apple Watch and that one seemed pretty accurate so I was excited to switch back to Fitbit but now I’m thinking I should have kept the Apple Watch...I can go through a full work day and it’s sayinf I only walked 800-1,000 steps which is way off
