Ionic stopped working after wearing it in the shower

After wearing the "waterproof" Ionic in the shower, the watch went black, and has visible condensation inside the censor windows. Customer support tells me the watch is out of its 1 year warranty window, and their solution is that I buy a new watch.

Anyone have any recommendations for alternatives to fitbit that might last for more than one year? My new watch will definitely not be a fitbit product.
