After 18 months my Ionic has completely stopped working. Will not charge, screen blank, absolutely no sign of life. Can’t do any resets or factory restore. Any ideas how to fix or is it now an expensive ornament.

Customer support yesterday had me run through some troubleshooting for my unused 2019 Ionic that died as I mentioned above. They quickly concluded that it was unrecoverable, and offered to ship me a new one or a 50% discount off of a different device. A new Ionic is on the way. In the meantime uninstalling and reinstalling the Fitbit app has restored Gmail notifications to my 2018 Ionic. So all is good. They seem to be trying to make things right.

That's been my experience, too. Customer service emailed a list of suggestions, which I went through, and then gave me a choice of a replacement Ionic or 50% off the new device, which I guess is the Versa. Tempting, but I like having the GPS on the device so my mountain treks are saved, and (probably because I'm an old 'un) I find Alexa intensely irritating, so I don't want something on my wrist asking me questions at awkward times. So a replacement Ionic for me.
But a big thumbs up to Fitbit customer service.

I had contacted Fitbit support. After 20 minutes with them I was told there was nothing they could do for me. They did offer to give me a 25% discount, which was the same price as Amazon was selling it. They also recommended the extended warranty for $50

Hey everyone! Sorry for the delayed reply.
I appreciate that you've shared your experience with Fitbit Ionic. Thanks for the troubleshooting tried in order to fix it.
If anyone else has battery issues, please confirm you've tried the steps mentioned in this article: Why isn't my Fitbit device's battery charging? If your display is not working, you may want to try restarting it.
I've read in your posts that you've contacted our Support team and they've provided you with options, remember that each case is reviewed individually and the option given is based in the Fitbit Warranty.
I'll be around if you need further assistance.

I received a new watch face from Fitbit this morning (and swapping over the strap made me notice how much the strap needs a clean!).
Thanks, Fitbit. Now I'll see if I can get the weather app on it working again and load up some music again.
Good luck everyone.

I received mine as a gift so I'm not entirely sure where it was purchased. They were able to look up my details and check the warranty on their end. Might be worth contacting them via the chat to figure it out!
