Ionic strap keeps disconnecting

I wore my Ionic today for the first time and keep finding that the strap keeps disconnecting from the watch face has this happened to anyone else worried I my loose it ?

Welcome to the Community @Matt73. I'm glad to hear that you just got a Fitbit Ionic. 

 

I would like you to confirm you followed this procedure to properly attach your band to the watch. 

 

  1. Turn Ionic over and find the wristband latches—there’s one on each end where the wristband meets the frame. 
  2. To release the latch, press down on the flat metal button on the strap.
     
  3. Gently pull the wristband away from the watch to release it.
     
  4. Repeat on the other side. If you have trouble removing the wristband or if it feels stuck, gently move the wristband back and forth to release it.
  5. To attach a wristband, press it into the end of the watch until you feel it snap into place. The wristband with the clasp attaches to the top of the watch.
