Ionic stuck on 0% and won't charge

My ionic was working great and then the battery died the other day. I plugged it in to charge and came back a few hours later and it still says 0% when you press a button. It has now been on charge for 3 days and still says 0%. I have tried wall chargers and running it off the laptop USB but still nothing! I can't reset or do anything as there is no battery life! Help!

Good day again.

My fitbit wouldn't charge, it would stay on 0%, but the display would show
0%, meaning there had to be some power.
I checked this forum, and read what wasn't working.
I think (not sure) but I think there is an issue with the bluetooth
connection, perhaps there is a priority to connect before charging.

I then followed the steps exactly the way I wrote out in the post above,
and other people followed it and helped them.
>From your initial reply, I see you are not following the steps.

Just to let you know, I am just a fitbit user.

hello

I had the same issue and figure out what the problem is. clean the back of the fitbit around the 3 contacts with a soft brush and blow off the stuff that comes out. I used a wooden toothpick because that what I had handy. I noticed the cable plug was sticking out and wondering that wasnt making contact...and that was it.

let me know how you made it

I agree with you:  I did clean the connectors on the watch and on the charger a few times.

Only today day did I finally see a small metal shard hidden and stuck magnetically on the inside grove. With tiny tweezers I was able to pull it free of the magnetic charge.

The watch now connected to the charging cable is loading the battery like new.  Mahalo to the Fitbit Community

Ionic stuck on 0% and won’t charge up. Have looked in the forum and followed others peoples advice. Still won’t charge.

Same here! The frustrating part is moderators will keep suggesting the same things over and over. Like how are you supposed to do a factory reset when the darn watch is dead!!? Now, they want me to take a video of me attempting their ridiculous suggestion, write a handwritten note, and send it to them. First class customer care right there.

This is the most stupid advice I’ve ever heard. The Ionic is st 0% which means it is not accessible at all. Do it is impossible to open the settings on it and reset

Best Answer
Yes! Definitely idiotic. My plan is to let the Ionic sit off the charger for a few days in hopes that it will completely discharge...and maybe just maybe it will respond when I try to charge it again. I’ve done it with other electronics before and it has worked, but I’ve also had them for years before they screwed up...not less than three months like the Ionic.

You can still factory reset a 0% ionic. It won't help -- the fact is these watches just have terrible batteries that die after six months and fitbit is trying to minimize liability by giving confusing instructions and finding contrived excuses to weasel out of warranties -- but you *can* factory reset a 0% ionic. Here's how: https://photos.app.goo.gl/7xo8H8UFrXTdbjfN8

Hopefully you'll have better luck getting fitbit to honor their warranty than I did 😕

I have tried every single combination and suggestion of buttons I have come across...none of them have resulted in anything.

I’ve tried this and all that happens is a quick flash and then 0% displays again. No logo screen. I got this Ioninis less than a month ago.
