My ionic was working great and then the battery died the other day. I plugged it in to charge and came back a few hours later and it still says 0% when you press a button. It has now been on charge for 3 days and still says 0%. I have tried wall chargers and running it off the laptop USB but still nothing! I can't reset or do anything as there is no battery life! Help!

@Ryan_mccarthy @Jasidok Welcome to the Fitbit forums! Thanks for reporting the situation you are experiencing with your Ionic not charging.

In this case, I'd recommend checking these tips for batteries that are not charging. This has helped other users in the past.

@Beamar1995 I hope you're doing well! Thanks for sharing the experience you have had with Ionic draining the battery quickly.

That is very strange. By any chance, did you updated it or use the GPS for too long? Check these tips to improve its battery life. Also, let me know if this happens to you once again.

@cocoliso59 Thanks for sharing your great help on this thread! Smiley Very Happy

Hi! Thanks for the welcoming. I have tried all 4 of the techniques the battery support page recommended long before I posted on here. It still will not charge. I had never had an issue with it prior to this either. I just don’t get it.

Santi, thanks,

How do I get to Settings->Factory Reset if all the watch wants to do is show that it is at 0%? Even when plugged in, in whatever way?

Many thanks

Yea. I don’t freakin get it. They don’t care. I spent all that money on that watch and it won’t even turn on now.

I don’t know what to do....

I have had 2 fitbit ionics with charging problems. Got sick of messing about trying to fix. Took it back and the agent could not help so I got money back and bought a Samsung. Really wanted Fitbit to get sorted but conclusion it is really just a **ahem**bit!

Hey bud, I am one of the few that found this post extremely helpful.
Now, almost every second day I get messages in my inbox.
I'm not sure if people think I am the moderator.
Perhaps it's a Fitbit error in how this thread works.

Anyway, since my original problem, I've neglected charging my Fitbit several times.
Here is what I've noticed since my original postings:
1] if your Fitbit shows 0% it means that it is still alive
2] it seems the Fitbit tries to search for a Bluetooth connection before it decides to charge

3] try cutting off all Bluetooth connections in your room and then do the hard reset

4] some users noticed their connections were dirty, but that's a hardware problem

5] try doing #3

This worked for me, too.  I have a Google Pixel 2 XL.  Restarting the phone worked!

Thanks,

This is my second Ionic that has the same issue with the charging circuit.  The same symptoms.

Stuck at 0% charging.  I did the same as folks described on this forum - different chargers, leaving it on charge for a long time, one day, Factory reset helped once, I saw a comment:  somebody suggested to do factory reset, wait 5 min, and perform the same till the Fitbit screen comes up - I got to Fitbit screen, with  13% charge indicated, but I was not able to charge it any further... I like the watch, just when I started to enjoy it again, it broke.. first one lasted 3mo.  This one lasted about the same, 3mo... it is frustrating that the company keeps doing the same error over and over again..  It is a great product when it works, but I am not sure if I am able to get the replacement second time.

Happened to me many times now.
And I always panic.
I make sure all Bluetooth connections and wifi connections are off, then I do a hard reset.
It's been working for me.

Thanks, I have followed your advice, cleared the cache and restarted the phone, which always works. I am not sure what causes the problem or what action fixes the problem. I wish it would stop!

I usually do a number of things together, I have followed tdfox's advice, but also restart phone.  I am not sure what actually corrects the problem, hard reset, restart of phone, clearing cache, turning Bluetooth off.  I have a Google Pixel 2 phone

my Fitbit ionic won't charge. I tried both USB port on my laptop and 3 different wall chargers. I tried turning it on while connected, but it's dead. It's only 3 months.
