My ionic was working great and then the battery died the other day. I plugged it in to charge and came back a few hours later and it still says 0% when you press a button. It has now been on charge for 3 days and still says 0%. I have tried wall chargers and running it off the laptop USB but still nothing! I can't reset or do anything as there is no battery life! Help!

I did the contact cleaning with rubbing alcohol, running a pin around the
oval slot the charing cable plugs into, bought a new charging cable, bought
a charging stand. Nothing worked. I have a $200 paperweight

How long you had it take it back to shop where you purchased it if less
than a year old

It started with the charging problems at 6 mo old. Fitbit sent me a new
cable. Problems reoccurred right after it went out of warranty and the
best they would do was give me a 20% discount on my next purchase. If
their $200 watch only lasted a year they have to be high to think I'll
waste any more money on their products!

Agree. Can't understand how they can let this continue as this is a known issue for years.

Forget all those old wives tales! If you want it fixed (well, recharged) here's what to do. But remember, NO SHORTCUTS!.

1. Connect Ionic watch to charge cable.

2. Turn off charge cable at power source. Go away for 24 hours.

3. Turn charge cable on at power source.

4. Ionic will charge normally now.

If you wish to take a shortcut, you Ionic will remain a paperweight.

Hi @Storky,

"If you wish to take a shortcut, you Ionic will remain a paperweight."

You forgot...

5. Hold your mouth right.

Lol!

But if 1-4 worked for you - then it may also for someone else?

It's not the contacts that cause the problem when your charger will not charge.  around your Ionic contacts, there is an oval

First I cleaned out any build up in the back where the charging port is then I held down the side buttons for 20 seconds  put it on charger waited a couple mins and pushed the buttons and held them in again put it on charger and it started charging

Hi SantiR,
I've updated my app mid-October and since my Fitbit Ionic has been acting up.
Since last Sunday, I can't even charge my Ionic. it is stuck on the 0% charge screen (when I press any button and have it charging using the official Fitbit charging cable). If it is not on charge the screen doesn't even turn on.

I tried doing a hard reset while not charging and charging but nothing happens. I also tried connecting it to a computer but it still remain stuck on the 0% charge screen.

Could you please help or guide me towards someone who can?

Cheers.

Dana

Have you cleaned the charging points on both watch and charger for deposits
of dirt. Or contact Fitbit support and see if they can help too

Well after receiving my 7th Fitbit charge in 2 years i can safely say it is the worst smart watch ever, all FITBIT do is replace it until the warranty expires then it's a useless waste of money, note to self NEVER BUY A FITBIT ever again...disgusting waste of money, 7 in 2 years is ridiculous. they work on volume sold, and if only a few thousand have issues they see it as a plus. cannot wait for the warranty to expire so i can buy a decent smart watch. FITBIT actually offered me 50% discount on a NEW FITBIT Charge 3 for £129.00, the only problem with that it wasn't off the new FITBITs and you can buy it on Amazon for £115, so a total rip off.

Yeah if your in warranty you'll get a replacement if not you have an expensive crap paper weight.
