My ionic was working great and then the battery died the other day. I plugged it in to charge and came back a few hours later and it still says 0% when you press a button. It has now been on charge for 3 days and still says 0%. I have tried wall chargers and running it off the laptop USB but still nothing! I can't reset or do anything as there is no battery life! Help!

Hi,
I too am facing the same problem where my ionic is showing 0% despite being plugged in for a couple of hours. I am unable to get to the about->factory reset option as the fitbit doesn't seem to have enough power to allow me to get to the setting screen.
After so many issues of the same nature, is it safe to say that the only solution at this time is for a replacement?

My Ionic won't even turn on for me to get to the settings..... 😞 What do I do now?

Thank you. I just got off the phone with customer service and they want me to video my trying to do a reset. I’m just waiting for that to upload and hopefully they’ll send me a new one. Kind of disappointed as I’ve only had this a little over a month. I even bought extra insurance for it. Hopefully everything will be fine in the end but thank you for responding.

I had the same problem. I cleaned the contacts and now my ionic is charging! Yay!!! Be careful cleaning. Read the instructions on the fitbit website or you could damage your fitbit.

Hey JoanFP, just contact customer support for ionic help. My app wasn’t accessible either due to it not charging from 0% but I just ended up getting a replacement. If you’re under warranty should be covered. Hope it works out for you. Super frustrating I know. I guess we can’t charge them in a wall socket USB because it will have the potential to surge power and ruin the battery? They advise to charge via laptop or computer.... which is a bit annoying. Hopefully, engineering will work it out so in the future Fitbit’s can be charged via wall socket

Hey Nurse Yoga, I cleans the contacts with a wooden toothpick. There was quite a bit of build up in the groove around the contacts on the back of the ionic. Once I did that, there was no problem charging it. 😊

Is there any solution if my ionic battery is completely dead and doesn't even show the 0% battery indicator? (Yesterday it kept showing a 0% battery level, and wouldn't charge.)
I've tried charging from laptops, different ports, using multiple power outlets, using different charging cables, and nothing works. I've done all the troubleshooting steps recommended online, and by two previous support consultants. After the first time I contacted the helpdesk, it eventually started charging again, but only once in bout three attempts did it charge fully (it would stop charging at some random point, and then I wouldn't be able to get it to continue charging). The second time I contacted the help desk, we ran through all the steps from the previous round, the support consultant asked for my permission to log in on my device and check it, then finally sent me a replacement charger. With the new charger I still had the occasional struggle to charge my phone, but it was much better than previously.

Try cleaning the terminal where the charger attaches to the ionic. Use a wooden tooth pick or something soft and get the yuck out of the groove.
