Ionic stuck on 0% and won't charge

My ionic was working great and then the battery died the other day. I plugged it in to charge and came back a few hours later and it still says 0% when you press a button. It has now been on charge for 3 days and still says 0%. I have tried wall chargers and running it off the laptop USB but still nothing! I can't reset or do anything as there is no battery life! Help!

I haven't been able to get my fitbit to charge for well over a week. Now.i have tried cleaning the contract with a toothpick, toothbrush, rubbing alcohol but nothing works. When it just went flat this time I could get the 0%for a little while but now I don't even get that. I had further problems with charging after my initial issues but it would start charging in 1-2 days after plugging it in. When it was working, it never vibrated except for once, and it was hot and miss on whether the notifications would work. I also can't seem to get my watch faces to last more than about a week before they stop working and have to change - this includes fitbit own design faces.

I took I stuff needle and carefully cleaned out the little ditch around the cluster of contacts on t hff e back of the watch. Take your time and be careful. This fixed mine. I tried a soft brush first but did not work. Hope this helps.

That's a stupid fix! This Thread is because the ionic is "stuck" on zero percent and won't charge. Which means that you can't access anything within the ionic software. So either you don't work for Fitbit, or don't care about the customers,  or are just reading your script from some paper that you haven't taken time to read for yourself. Just horrible reply.

I do not work for fit bit. I had the same problem stuck on 0 and no charge. This fixed ,one because it had crud in the ditch causing a bad connection. I did not access any software. Just a good cleaning which a soft brush did not get. If you feel this is stupid don't try it.

I got it to charge eventually. Held the left button and bottom right
button down for about 30 sec while it was on the charging cord. Overall
I'm very disappointed in this product, this is the 10th time in about 6
months that it's had some kind of charging/booting problem.

Hello everyone! Thanks for your continuous participation on this thread regarding Ionic not charging and being stuck on 0%. Also, thanks for all of your efforts in reporting this and providing as much details as you can. Thanks to the ones that have tried different steps to sort this out.

If you haven't done so already, please perform a restart on your Ionic. This has helped other users in the past. You can also try doing this while it is plugged in in case it doesn't have any battery power.

You could also take a look at these solutions for batteries that stopped charging. This should also help you out.

Hope this helps. Keep me posted! Smiley Happy

How can you perform a factory reset with zero power?!

Hey there @ardisse, it's nice to see you here! If the tracker doesn't have any battery power, you can perform the restart while it is plugged in the charger source.

My wife has the same thing happen, and since it was bought from NewEgg fitbit won't help us at all. She's to the point she's considering going to Apple instead. Bit frustrating after all the fitbit loyalty she has had and I have tried everything to get it to work.

I fixed it! Don’t use the charging base. Just uses usb and plug. When you plug it in do a hard boot ie push both bottom buttons. It’ll start charging !

Every time I go to the beach and swim. Little grains of Metallic stick to the charging magnets. I have to dig them out with toothpicks and other small tools. It’s the only way the charging cable connects correctly. Good luck.

Tell her to try this. On the back of the watch there is a little ditch around the pad th hat has the 3 little charging contacts. Take a needle and gently clean that ditch out. A cleaning with a gentle brush did not so it. I have been ridicules for suggesting this but it is all that got mine going again.

It did not work.

Sorry it did not work. It fixed mine. It had so much gunk in that little ditch it would not connect to the charger. If this did not fix it contact customer service and maybe they can help.

Sorry to hear that your wife's tracker is still having difficulties when you guys try to charge it @osubucksfan9. Have you tried some of the recommendations you received in this thread? Did you clean the tracker and the watch contacts? For instructions, see: How do I clean my Fitbit device?

While reading your post I was wondering if you've contacted our support team? You mentioned here that Fitbit won't help you at all, so I assumed you've contacted our customer support team, but I couldn't find any records on my end. Did you use your wife's email to contact them?

Thanks you'll for your tips and recommendations @ardisse, @SunsetRunner, @Maen_AlJammal, and @Jeeper53Smiley Very Happy
