Ionic stuck on Firmware 27.33.1.30

Hi,

My Ionic has sat in a draw unused for sometime as the band broke and I hadn't sourced a replacement.

I decided to get it out and purchased a new band for it. It charged up and held its charge fine, as expected however I am unable to 1) install any new apps as they require the ionic to be updated to latest firmware 2) update the firmware on the ionic.

I have ensured that the IOS app is up to date.

The IOS app does not prompt that there is an update available for my ionic.

Looking online seem to say that the latest ionic firmware is 27.71.6.19

Would appreciate any support,

Thank you,

Hi Odyssey,

Yes I did see that, and the section referencing that some users may not be presented the 71.6.19 update for some time.

My issue is that I am on 33.1.30. Which is an old-old firmware.

I don't mind that I may not be eligible for the newest firmware but I am unable to even update to the most recent public access firmware.

I assume there was firmware updates between 33.1.30 and the latest 71.6.19

Cheers,

I would think it would update to the latest one, but I've contacted a moderator to stop by to address this.

Alright after some trial and error I was able to update successfully.

This was done by performing a factory reset of the device and setting it up from scratch, while doing this I was presented with the ability to update the ionic in that process.

It took a long time and then failed while trying to update over Wi-Fi, after it failed it asked if I wanted to try and update over Bluetooth, this was successful.

It updated me to firmware 70.8.0. which must be the most public recent firmware.

I assume I will be eligible for the newest firmware (71.6.19) sooner or later, hopefully it gives me the prompt to update then.

@Qwsaxzx I hope you're doing well!

Let me help you with updating that your Ionic. Happy to hear that you were able to update your Ionic. Regarding the latest firmware this hasn't been released to all users yet. The release is done in several stages, each one letting some percentage of the users to get it. It is just a matter of time for you to get this update so please be patient while it is released to all users.

@Odyssey13 thank you for your help in this thread.

Let me know how it goes.
