Ionic suddenly stopped tracking my steps and bpm

I have had my ionic for 2 years and wear it religiously. Every once in a while it wouldnt sync or freeze up but I could always work out the problem by logging out and resetting. I noticed there was an update to my fit bit app this week  . The  Dash board is a totally  different set up. This morning my watch stopped tracking everything out of the blue.. I thought it was because the battery was low so I fully charged it. I got the time back but nothing else. It's not tracking steps or bpm. I tried logging out. Turning the phone off. Phone back on . Logging back in. Nothing is working. 

I know this is somehow related to the new update

Same thing happened to me today.  Spent an hour on the phone with tech support and reset the ionic back to factory settings. Now will track steps, floors and calories but no activity or heart rate. 😞 Have rebooted twice to no avail. Called again and they said if it is still under warranty it is cover. But alas, it is over one year old.
