I keep reading all your comments and the new comments from people just finding this board. The list is growing so quickly! It seems a common theme here is that everyone loved their ionic watches.....before they died. None of us "really" want a different watch, but people are feeling they have no choice because they have lost confidence in the Ionic, and in Fitbit to stand behind their products.
I want the replacement Ionic to work so badly (yes because my son gave me my original ionic), but also because I absolutely just loved the ionic watch. A few of my friends bought one because they liked the things I would tell them about that the watch could do......like to go nearly a week without charging, tracking sleep, having a watch face that showed so much stuff at a glance, like HR, Steps, Calories, remaining battery, as well as the time. Now, I'm wondering if my friends watches will die too......... 😞
My fingers are crossed that the issues from late 2017 ionic watch batches have been fixed, and that my Ionic replacement is not from that batch! Only time will tell. But I do want it to work the way my old surge did......which is until it becomes obsolete due to something better being created. That's what we expect from these expensive gadgets we buy.

Hey GClark, absolutely on target! I was mostly very happy with my Ionic it didn't sync properly all the time but I have an unsupported phone & I get that it's hard to cover every make and model of every phone on the planet but everything else was great. I tried hard to get my support people to say whether newer models were any better but that would be admitting there was an issue with previous manufacture runs. Nope wouldn't do it and they won't offer extended support in Canada...What!? I think it will be the Garmin Vivoactive 3 this time with extended warranty. But you know if Fitbit had confirmed the newer Ionics were more reliable I probably would have taken the 40% off offer. Now it's double thumbs down for Fitbit because they won't stand behind their products. Hope your friends watches hang in there that would really suck!

I've started to pass this thread onto news outlets that might be interested. If I was in the market for a new smartwatch, I'd certainly would want to know about this issue.

Hi everyone! Thanks for taking the time to report the issues that you're having with your Fitbit Ionic.
@SunsetRunner Nice to see you on the Forums, thanks fro trying those steps with your Fitbit Ionic. I've requested a case on your behalf, you will be getting an email shortly. Keep an eye on your email inbox.
I appreciate all the feedback and the time you've taken to perform the troubleshooting steps suggested along the thread. If you've already contacted our support team, I suggest to keep communication open with them. They will be glad to keep assisting you.
If you're having issues with your Ionic not responding when you try to charge it, I'd suggest to clean the contacts of your Ionic; you need to this regularity with all devices. These contacts can become obstructed by microscopic dirt or debris that prevents them from making a good connection to the charger. Use a toothpick or toothbrush to clean the charging contacts; do not scrape them with anything metal because this may damage the plating and result in corrosion.
We also recommend plugging your charging cable into a USB port on your computer or other low-energy device. If necessary, you can use a UL-certified USB wall charger. Don't use a USB hub or battery pack to charge, and only use the charging cable that came with your tracker.
For more help, you can take a look of the steps on this article: Why isn't my battery charging on my Fitbit device? And as a last step, you can try a factory reset on your Ionic.
At this time, we'll be closing this thread since it has became off topic. If you've already exhausted all the troubleshooting steps and you still need assistance, please open a new thread on the Ionic board, provide as many details related to the issue in your post. We'll be assisting as soon as possible.
Thanks for your understanding.
