Ionic tracking steps while I ride a motorbike

Hi, My iconic is counting steps while I'm riding my motorbike. I thought the fix for this would be simply to take it off while I ride however it still counts steps. I've seen various suggested enhancement suggestions for this that involve manual intervention however to me the solution is simple. Update the product so that it doesn't count steps if your travelling at more than 15Km/h or its not on your arm.

You could always turn if off in the settings app while you are on your bike. But I do understand what you are suggesting. I have a similar issue riding my push bike

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @Mycki74, hope you're doing great! Remember that the wrist trackers count steps depending on the movement of your arms, when you are driving or when your tracker is close to a fan, your tracker counts steps due to the vibrations. You can learn more about how your Fitbit tracks steps by checking the article: How accurate are Fitbit devices?

In order to avoid your Charge 2 to record so many extra steps while driving, I can suggest you a few things:

1. Manually log Driving activity for certain time period to negate all steps in that time, still leaving heart rate data and calories.

2. Attach anywhere else on torso or in pocket to avoid it tracks steps while driving. You'll always see calories burned.

3. Try with DriveBit app which is super easy to use and you can set it to custom activity name. Just hit start when sitting, and then stop when your up and moving. It does everything else for you and subtracts the accumulated steps from your count after it's logged.

Also, another thing I do while I drive with my Charge 2 is to plug it into the USB charger while I'm in the car. It pauses counting while charging and I never get a flat battery. I don't bother for short drives.I know this couldn't be apply here since you're on a motorbike, but you can try this if by any chance you wear it while driving a car.

Most of the users are requesting for an option/way to avoid erroneous steps during activities that don't include steps. To what I recommend up-voting and commenting on Add "Driving Mode" feature to avoid erroneous steps/floors feature suggestion since it is very similar of what you're looking and asking for.

Thanks for you help @NellyG!

The ideas on how to solve this are ridiculous. The unit has a GPS and knows how fast I'm travelling. How can i be stepping at 60KM/h? This just requires a simple firmware fix to ensure steps are not counted when travelling at more than the human body can travel under its own power.
