Ionic turned off when displaying about 50% battery and won't turn on.

I've plugged it into the charger for 2 days since then.  I've tried holding down the left and bottom button to reset it, but it doesn't ever get back to starting up completely. If it does do anything it shows the logo for a short time and then switches off.

Note that before then the battery indicator was severely odd.  I've had days where it was indicating 0% after a couple of hours charge in the morning and despite not charging further the amount of charge going up during the day, or staying at 0% despite not actually being dead.  Additionally its gone completely flat (and needed to be charged completely) when its been telling me its completely full

I've tried different chargers and different charging cables.

Any suggestions?
