I spoke with Fitbit support and was told that it is an known issue that the Ionic is not working with the iPhone X.
Other notifications come in fine... Fitbit notifications, phone call notifications, calendar, apple maps, threema messaging... but nope, not iOS text messages.
The technician told me the only way I could get escalated to support was if I sent a screenshot of my iOS Messages Settings. Whaaaat?? That's super stupid Fitbit! There are twelve settings spread across what would be three screen shots. I can easily read these settings to a technician. The only way you will give me support is if I send you screen shots? WTHeck
How about a notice on the Ionic forum that states something like: Ionic is experiencing the following issues on iPhone X: a, b, c... a fix is expected to be ready by [date]. That way everyone who wants to be your customer doesn't have to go through the same headaches over and over. No one expects tech to be perfect, but we do expect a good company to treat us respectfully.

@eh_seattle Welcome to the Fitbit Community! By any chance, did you just updated to iOS 11?
Have you tried these notifications troubleshooting steps? That could help you out with this. Also, make sure the following is toggle on: General Settings > Notifications > Messages > 'Show In History'. Then, check if notifications from iOS will show.
If this doesn't make the trick, I would trust the customer service representative. They certainly know what they are doing and I'm sure that if you send the screen shots they asked; this will be fixed.
If you already confirmed with customer support that all of your notifications settings are correctly configured on your iPhone, then sending the screen shots should be the best way to have this sorted.
Keep me posted!

I returned my Ionic. My notifications come in perfect on another device - without having to do any troubleshooting.
