Ionic will not sync after app update today

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Ionic was working until the app update yesterday.

Apple XS Max with all the latest updates.

Updated the app yesterday  and now it will not sync with my watch. The sync cycle runs about halfway and then drops and then tries it again and again and again.......

Did the two button reset, no change.

Did an actual watch shut off and restart, no change.

Did a phone shut off and reset, no change.

Did a Bluetooth disconnect and reconnect, no change.

Not sure what “bug fix” your engineers did on this update but it’s created some new bugs.

Waiting for your solution please.

Welcome to the Forums @emtajim, nice to see you around. Thanks for troubleshooting this beforehand, you did a great job trying those steps.

I'd suggest to confirm if your phone is up to date first, then you can follow these steps:

  1. Force quit the App and turn off your phone
  2. Open Fitbit App, go to Account (upper right corner) > Delete Fitbit tracker from the Account
  3. Open the Bluetooth Setting on your phone and delete Fitbit Ionic from there too
  4. Reboot Bluetooth to make sure your Ionic is not there
  5. Turn off your phone for two minutes and turn it back on
  6. Restart your Fitbit a couple of times and Access back to Fitbit App > Account to set up your Fitbit tracker back
  7. If this doesn't work you can try one more time with other phone

This should solve any syncing issue that you're having, please keep me posted on the resolution!

I had the same problem,  and went through a fiasco to get it working.  Now my battery keeps dying in 3 hours,  and support keeps telling me to charge it with a USB an UL approved cord: which I never stopped doing. Hope once you get it working,  you dont have this issue.

None of your suggestions worked.

Ended up removing and reinstalling the app and resetting my Ionic back to factory settings.

Seems to be working now.
