My new "super smart watch "will not sync contect to WiFi and has lost 18 minutes in time over 3 days . I managed to sync on set up after first setup it will not sync .I have followed all trouble shooting via phone and live chat and nothing will work . A factory reset has been done . I have tried two devices that are fully supported . Fitbit have not responded to last message .there advise was wait for a new firmware update .with no timescale . NOT good enough . A £300 watch should work . I would like a replacement and if this doesn't solve issues sorry but will have to look to another fitness tracker . I had no problems with my surge apart from band peeling .

I agree - same issues with my Ionic - it simply will not hook up to any Wifi. I have done everything - this is crazy for such an expensive watch.

I am having the same issue with my ionic. It is not connecting to wifi. I bought my ionic 4 days ago and setup took almost 2 hours because it could not connect to wifi. Need a solution to this asap.

I cannot get my Ionic to sync to my phone either. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app and removed the Ionic and reinstalled and reset everything more than once. It has a mind of its own and sync when it feels like it or doesn't sync at all.

I have spent the last hour trying to connect watch to Wifi. The fitbit flyer connected to wifi. This is my 3rd Fitbit purchased. I am not happy.

Same thing has happened to me - all of a sudden 3 days ago it stopped Syncing and no matter what I have been advised to try - it will not sync. Not happy with the Ionic at all!

I was able to connect to my computer (Surface Pro 3 with current windows system) to sync as long as I was using the Fitbit app and not the Fitbit website. Through the app on my computer I was able to connect to WiFi. My computer will sync when I open the app but not otherwise. I tried many times to get my phone and ionic to communicate with no luck and could not connect to WiFi through the Fitbit app on my phone. Then quite by accident, I found that my phone synced with my Ionic when the Ionic was plugged into the charger. While it is great that it will at least sync this way, it is completely useless to me for all the money that was spent on it that I can't have it sync on the fly and I can't get text/message notifications from my phone as it is supposed to do if I can get the Ionic and my phone to communicate unless the Ionic is plugged into the charger. I am hoping for some kind of update that will correct this communication issue and will be reaching out to Fitbit directly to confirm that what I have found is the only way it will work.

One more thing, how can they break the one aspect all of their previous devices did so well (syncing all the time if that was your setting - it was always mine even if I had to charge more often) on the version that is the most expensive and therefore needs to really "get it right"?

Same issue and it seems to sync randomly. I have spent so many hours on this and couldn't be more disappointed.

I have this random issue also. I’ve had my ionic since December 17 but this random WiFi connection/sync is a recent problem since the last update. Before then it would sync on command. Now because it’s so random it’s messing up daily stats.
This is needs to be addressed by Fitbit pretty quickly as it’s the loosing confidence of the market

exactly same here. it seems to sync only when “magic” is in the air. and that since the os 2.0 update. did at least 4 complete re-setups and the recurring sync problems remain for weeks now. currently in a chat with fitbit support on twitter but nothing helped so far. instead of answering me, when we can expect a bugfix update for the watch os and fitbit app they’re asking for giving them feedback on their service...

This astonishes me, it’s obviously a common issue that has been around for some time. Rather than dealing with temporary workarounds for individuals, they should deal with the issues at source and sort it for everyone. I have been praising and recommending Fitbit for a few years. Now when asked I advise people to hold off buying a Fitbit as they obviously have issues.
C’mon Fitbit sort this fundamental software issue out

Besides not syncing, it will not update the software either. I also have the fitbit ear buds and I can't get them to work and I can't get them to stay in my ears. I have had 3 other fitbit and loved them but I am really disappointed with the Ionic and the ear buds. Spent all this money and can't use them.

something that helped – but it's not THE solution we are looking for: when ionic is connected to the charger, close to the wifi base and phone left alone for a while, the ionic will "sometimes" sync meanwhile. now moved from twitter support feed into an email case with the fitbit support... keep you posted.
