Ionic will not update to latest version of the firmware

My Ionic is still using the 27.33.1.30.  I have done all the troubleshooting I have read about in the different threads such as unpairing from phone, restarting, resetting the watch and doing initial setup and it has not helped. I am not sure how to force the update.

Is your ionic able to sync? 

You mention unpairing from phone, then something about an initial setup. 

Unpair from the phone is when the ionic is removed from the list of trusted Bluetooth devices and does not require any setup. 

Also lets go to the what is new page and you will see that your ionic should have the latest firmware.

My ionic said there was an update available, but then didn't update.

Did you ionic say that there was an update? Or was it your Fitbit app that said that there is a update for the ionic? 

Where you able to start the update? 

You say that your ionic is at 27.33.1.30

And the help doc says that 27.33.1.30

Therefore I'm not sure which version you would be updating to unless you have joined a beta group.

Following all firmware update instructions does not lead to a firmware update:

Firmware version device: 27.33.1.30

Android App: Version 3.4.2 (20213455).

The App functionality "Check for Ionic update" shows this message: 'Ionic is up to date'.

According to the instructions, there should appear an update icon: 'Tap the Today tab  > your profile picture > your device image. Tap the pink Update button. This option only appears if an update is available. But there is no pink Update button.

It seems that firmware version 27.33.1.30 is 3 tot 4 updates behind, there is no way to update.

Reason for a requested update: the Ionic refuses to install Spotify, as the Android App displays 'To install this app, make sure the Fitbit app on your phone and your Fitbit device have the latest update. Learn more'. With the "Learn More" link, I keep turning in circles without a solution.
