Ionic won't Pair with Iphone

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

The other day my Ionic went from 50% battery to 0% in one leap! Upon recharging the watch was 50 minutes behind the actual time. In an attempt to correct the time I unpaired the Ionic from my Iphone and 'forgot' it in the bluetooth settings of the phone.

Now no matter what I try I keep getting the message ''Something went wrong. There was an error while trying to pair your device''

I've looked through other threads and tried the various methods suggested but it's just not pairing. How can I fix this before I go crazy!!

Appin recharging from a dead battery the time will be off. A simple sync of the tracker will correct the time. A restart is simply a restart and will not alter the time. Did you try a sync of the ionic? If you did and it failed, we need to correct the sync issue.

Un-pair  the ionic from the phone is when the user removes the ionic from the list of trusted Bluetooth devices. It sounds like you also told. Fitbit that you do not want to use the ionic by removing it from your account. This is a sure fire way to add more problems.

If we do not remove the ionic from the account the app will at least know what tracker to look for.

Tips, note I'm an android user.

1 - Unpair tracker from the phones bluetooth

2 - Check for app updates

3 - restart phone

4 - restart ionic

5 - make sure that any other device that you have synced through, if nearby has its Bluetooth turned off

Hey,

If restarting your phone, going to a place with good wifi, restarting the watch with all 3 buttons held down, or deleting and reinstalling the app doesn't work. Try this:

Turn off your phone's cell phone data, and make sure that you have WiFi set up on your phone and it has a good signal. Also, I think you need to have 2.4Ghz wifi available for best results. I didn't have great results with 5Ghz.

If for some reason you have a bad phone cellular data connection, then the phone can't contact the Fitbit servers which won't let you pair the phone/watch.
