Try another higher current charger. Whilst connected to a charger press and hold in the back and bottom right buttons until the Fitbit logo appears. Keep charging until full. "Rinse and repeat" from different chargers/laptops etc until it works. Leave it on a charger for an hour or so if it won't work and try again.
Try not to let the battery fully drain. The older the battery, the less likely it will easily recover from being fully drained.

Hey @saradaw , did this turn back on for you? I've tried the same but it just doesn't respond anymore.
@PaulMe this is the first time I've seen a watch battery fail so fast actually, we use rechargable batteries in our everyday devices e.g. phone and you can't expect it to not charge once its at 0%. this is disappointing towards Fitbit's end to say the least.

I hear what your saying.
I'm not convinced the batteries used in the Ionic/Fitbit's are of the highest quality. They certainly don't seem to have the same lifespan of quality Li ion batteries. I also suspect these batteries sometimes drain too low in voltage and most chargers may not be able to "kickstart" the charging cycle. Hence they refuse to recharge. This is why I suggest trying a higher current (QC3.0 and above) fast charger. Of course there are other possibilities why they fail as well. Firmware, electronic/logic issues etc.
