Brought the ionic on Boxing Day and only just using it now as I have been waiting for a protective case to arrive. Finally go to set it up and it won’t download the update which it insists is the only way I can use it.

I have removed the fitbit app and reinstalled it. I have turned my phone and the watch off and back on. And I have tried to download the upload the update more then once only to get 30minutes of no movement in the download or to get the HTTP 0 error

If you only have the Bluetooth connection, then it can take a long time.

It is better to activate the Wifi, before starting the update (connect to your own Wifi router).

Also start with a reset of the watch, that often also can help (left button together with the right lower button).

My brand new- just out of the box, ionic won’t download the new update either and it refuses to work without it. Did you ever get yours to work properly? I’ve tried resetting the watch, connecting and disconnecting from WiFi and Bluetooth... I gave it the entire night to try and down load, as well as a couple of tries again this morning  and it never moves past 5%.

I had no problem at all.

I connected the Bluetooth, then also the Wifi and after that i almost instantly got the message of the update.

Started download and in less then 2 hours (i think it was 1 hour, but it is already severval months back) it was downloaded and installed.

But as i said, only BT is very slow.

If you get the update request before activating Wifi, just cancel the update, activate Wifi and then search in the fitbit app for the update message.

Should really work.
