Ionic won’t hold a charge

My Ionic can charge overnight but by the middle of the next day, 70% is gone.

it used to go 4-5 days before I had to recharge. I have restarted it & my phone, synced them, tried to update-none were available, and looked for anything running continuously. I also keep it clean. Nothing has worked. Help!

At this point, it is better to contact support.

Just follow their instructions, try it, and reach back. If it isn't a clock face draining the battery, most likely it will be replaced.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @Lorimccar, hope you're doing great! Thanks for already troubleshooting this inconvenience with your Ionic's battery life.

The length of time your Fitbit device operates on a full charge depends on how frequently you use it and various settings. This article provides battery life estimates and tips for turning off features you don't need when you want to prioritize battery life.

If your phone is running the Android 8 operating system, you may see a notification letting you know the Fitbit app is using battery resources. For more information, see Why is the Fitbit app sending a notification to my Android phone?

The Fitbit Ionic battery can last up to 5 days. Because battery life is affected by use and other settings, actual results may vary. Consider these tips when you want to conserve battery life:

  • Make sure you're charging Ionic fully each time. It can take up to 2 hours to charge your watch. For instructions, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  • Turn off the option to wake the screen when you turn your wrist; instead, tap the screen to turn it on:
    • On your watch, press and hold the back button, then swipe to the quick settings screen > Screen Wake > Manual.
  • If you don't need heart rate data, change the Heart Rate setting to Off. Note that the green LED continues to flash even if Heart Rate is turned off.
  • Turn off call, text, calendar, and app notifications if you know you're going to receive many hundreds of notifications. A large volume reduces battery life:
    • On your watch, press and hold the back button, then swipe to the quick settings screen > Notifications > Off.
  • Charge your watch more often if:
    • You play music or use the music controls frequently
    • You use apps that keep the watch's screen on, use GPS, or frequently access the internet
    • You use an interactive or animated clock face
  • Don't receive reminders to move every hour. To get fewer reminders, make sure you walk 250 steps each hour, change the number of hours you want your stationary time monitored, or turn off the feature on days you don't need it.
  • If you have many silent alarms set, consider deleting some. Each alarm you add up to the maximum of 8 reduces battery life by a small percentage.
  • Shut down Ionic when it's not in use. For instructions, see How do I turn off my Fitbit device?

If the battery is still draining too quickly, I'd recommend getting in touch with our Customer Support Team like @SunsetRunner suggested.

Having the same issues but out of warranty. I just wanted to say with the greatest  respect, the advice being given makes no sense. What you're saying is that after people buy the ionic for its features they must then disable them all of they want the battery to last more than 6-8 hours. Seems the battery just gives up after a year and is then no good. Love my ionic but wont be buying another for this reason
