My ionic hasn’t received texts or calls from my android phone since the first of April, In fact it hasn’t even synced with my phone since then. I’ve done all the things recommended, including deleting the app and reloading it, twice. Sometimes, after repeated power off, power on, it will sync for a few minutes but then is gone. I’ve spent MANY hours trying to make this work. I’m disappointed that I’ve spent this kind of money to have just an activity tracker. The reason I purchased this model was to have notifications.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having syncing and notifications issues.
I would like you to confirm that you've tried this syncing procedure. If you get it syncing but you're still unable to receive notifications, please try the steps mentioned in this article: My Fitbit device isn't receiving notifications from my phone.
If after trying the troubleshooting mentioned above, you're still having issues, please let me know the mobile device that you're using.
