Recently I am struggling to sync my ionic to my iPhone 6. It is set to 'all-day sync and wasn't a problem before. Over the past 2 weeks I have been having to restart my ionic to make if sync but today it won't even work. In addition over the past 2 night it has lost 10 minutes whichmademe late yesterday! Any ideas?

Within the past months I have been living with the stress of not being able to rely on the time my Ionic is giving me, seriously I have a watch that cannot keep track of time. It makes absolutely no sense for a digital watch to loose track of time so consistently as the fitbit Ionic does.

It would almost seem that the only way to avoid that from happening is syncing the watch every 5 minutes, but for someone like me that does not have constant access to the internet that simply is not going to work.Plus my career is not that of a professional "FitBit syncer" or something like that...I have business to conduct.

I have had 2 replacements in the course of this time and they have all started to slack on the actual time within a month or so of having them. Its extremely frustrating because this is indeed a very nice and useful device however the fact that the syncing is happening with the server and not the phone itself might be the starting point for a permanent fix, hoping fitbit can address that. Its obviously a widespread issue and one that corresponds to possibly a faulty hardware matter since the only fix I have observed of all the posts I've read is to replace the tracker

If the watch had an integrated time management interface where time could be set on the actual tracker, then this would be as simple as setting the time on the actual device then most likely this would not be the issue, but until then. This is an unreliable piece of equipment which I have had enough time invested/wasted and I am not willing to do so anymore. I do not have 3 hours to spare almost everyday when this watch feels like loosing time randomly and to battle to sync the watch, etc...

Hopefully when FitBit gets things together I may consider coming back, but for now... I am definitely finished with this. Tracker is going to the trash.

Same issue post the April 2019 update occurred. As of Monday May 6th my ionic stopped sycning normally. now i have to do all kinds of reboots of phone and Ionic to get the 2 to sycn. And what is most irritating is that an ionic for all its expense doesn't keep proper time unless it syncs. really for the amount the thing cost we could make sure it keeps proper time unless it syncs?

Hello @SLovell, sorry for the late reply. I'm sorry to see that you've been having trouble to sync your watch.

As you've mentioned, not being able to sync properly can affect the time in the watch, if you run out of battery for example. Before considering other options, could you please confirm if you already tried all the steps listed here to resolve syncing problems?

Also, please make sure to check if the mobile device you're using is listed here as a compatible device to sync with the Fitbit app.

Please keep me posted.

It is really an insult that Fitbit help staff constantly think the issues with their products are the users simply not getting the right steps in line.  In reality, these expensive devices seems to fail after a short period with wifi or Bluetooth antenna or time simply not working.  No amount of work on our side can fix a poorly made/designed piece of hardware.  I had to discuss on chat for an hour yesterday to convince them that I was not an idiot and please sent a replacement for this $300+ babble on my wrist that cannot even keep time.  I am all for accurate time down to the second when paired to my phone but honestly, to lose 4 hours in an 8 hour period is absolutely ridiculous.  Perhaps out by 5 seconds over a day until you sync would be totally acceptable.  I fear my replacement Ionic will simply start to have the same problem. I hope within the warranty period since I will be **ahem**ed to pay for anymore of Fitbit products.  They really have to get it together unless this is their business case to defraud consumers with a substandard product and hope have this happen outside the warranty period.  Besides the time not working, could not go on run with GPS on without the watch freezing and rebooting.  So time, GPS, Bluetooth antenna and possibly wifi antenna all not working.  At least the screen still came on.  What use that is I am not sure.  By the way, I had a Blaze previously that completely stopped working.  Got a $40 discount on the Ionic.  Into Fitbit for at least $500 at the moment...

I’m having the same problem

with my ionic.  I’ve gone through all the syncing steps outlined by Fitbit numerous times.

Should I try a factory reset, and risk my ionic being bricked with the update (my ionic updated with no problems, but it hasn’t fixed the problem of losing time).?

Or is it time to take it back (still less than a year old) from where I purchased it from

I had to go thru all the resetting steps with a Fitbit person on the phone. After they saw that it wasn’t syncing properly they did replace the unit.

I spoke with a couple of customer service people.  First Lady walked me through steps and eventually got it to sync.  I explained to her that it’s constantly losing time..and loses more overnight.  Her response was to sync it multiple times a day (never had to do this before)...anyhow within 10minutes I’d already lost 2 minutes....called again...spoke to another person (lovely fellow).  Tried everything...the. Factory reset....it’s now dead...they’re sending out a replacement...thank god still within warranty

Hi - FINALLY received my new pebble on Wednesday (the drama I had getting it delivered was comical - not Fitbit’s fault at all)....I’ve got it all set up....so easy....but now my bands keep popping out.  I’ve tried 4 different bands and they just keep slipping out despite being “snapped in”.  Have the dimensions of the Pebble changed at all?

Same issue. I have restarted. Reset to factory. Reinstalled device. Turned off and on Bluetooth. Called and spoke with support. No help. Just told to send it back and they’ll consider the situation as my wife can’t find the insurance information. This is the second time I’ll have had to return a Fitbit ionic that would not pair nor sync consistently with my IPhone. It candidly has me thinking it is time to trash the Fitbit and buy the Apple Watch. At least it would be compatible. This is an intrinsic issue with the ionic device or the Fitbit app installed on my phone...which I have removed and re-installed several times. I’ve spent hours on this thing. They can either send me a new device that does work or I’m done.

I gave up on Fitbit and bought an Apple Watch. I really like it.

My ionic pebble was replaced but had dramas with the delivery (not Fitbit’s problem) so I ended up buying a Garmin Vivoactive 3. The only thing it doesn’t do is store music. Has been working like a dream.
My husband is using the replacement Ionic and so far so good. It’s behaving nicely....for now anyways

Thank you! Even the last time it happened they tried to “up sell” me before agreeing to send me a “new” ionic. I like the simplicity of it when it works but they simply aren’t dependable in my experience. Don’t need all the bells and whistles of an Apple Watch but want something that isn’t a hassle.
Thanks again

Steve

Having the same issues as well.

If everyone's iconic is having the same problem at the same time, surely it would be a dodgy update?

Ours cost $450 which is a huge amount of money for us.... and now it wont work.... the fitbit name is being badly damaged... if your product doesn't work ... step up and admit it and remedy the problem...

Have spent hours playing around with it and all the settings... and will probably spend all morning on it tomorrow as well.... ours is out of warranty so probably done $450... tired of being ripped off....

Wish me luck.

I think it was a software update that caused the issue. I simply kept deleting and reading the app and attempting to sync. It began working again after about 2 weeks of frustration. My device has now worked well for past 2-3 weeks.

Same here. Last sync on its own was 2/13/20. I have done everything imaginable to get it working correctly. Then it stops syncing again and loss of time happens all over again.
