Ionic won’t stop vibrating and screen is froze when on

Went for a light swim at the pool today and now my Fitbit seems damaged beyond repair. It randomly started vibrating out of control. Tried doing a restart on it and it reset and started vibrating again. The screen froze and the only thing that stopped the vibrating was the battery draining to empty. Now when I plug it in to charge it immediately starts vibrating and the screen doesn’t come on. Watch is 6 months old

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @Kevin1983! Thanks for already troubleshooting this inconvenience with your Fitbit Ionic, nice way to go!

I'd recommend cleaning the charging contacts using the instructions in How do I clean my tracker?. Once you've done this, let your tracker charging around 1-2 hours and then, try restarting your Fitbit Ionic once more.

Give this a go and let me know if the issue with the screen and the vibration persist.

Having a very similar issue here. My 2-month old Ionic started vibrating and lighting up 2 nights ago. In my case, there was no special circumstances surrounding the issue (no swimming or any other potentially challenging condition that may have cause hardware damage). If I try to turn it off, it turns itself back on. It vibrates every few minutes and sometimes it goes dark or shows the Fitbit logo for a while, then it goes dark again. In between those vibrating cycles, I managed to reset to factory settings, hoping this would solve the problem. It didn't. Firmware version is 27.32.10.15

Adding to my frustrations, I'm finding out through the Fitbit forum that this isn't a rare occurrence with the Ionic.

Fitbit, please help solve this issue or provide instructions to return for a full refund.

Same issue..

Got caught in rain, ionic dropped to zero battery.

Placed the ionic on charge.

Since charge ionic will not turn on, randomly Buzz's whilst on charge, when first connecting charge lead, then Buzz's continuous when detaching charge cable.

Cannot get ionic to turn on or any buttons to work.

I contacted Fitbit and they sent me through a New Ionic as it was within the warranty.

Did you ever get a resolution on this? My Fitbit is a few years old, so definitely not under warranty.

This didn’t work for me. Any other suggestions? I am definitely out of warranty.

I tried  all the fixes posted in the forums but none worked. It seems like this is a fatal fail. Fitbit eventually sent me a new one sine mine was under warranty.
