Ionic won't turn on after contact with water

Had the Ionic for just over 2 years. Love that watch.

I got a little gunk on the wrist band, so I rinsed it off. The Ionic is supposed to be water resistant, so I wasn't concerned when some water splashed over and around the watch face. It wasn't submerged. The faucet wasn't pouring onto the face or sensor area of the watch. I dry it thoroughly and put it back on about an hour later.

Sure enough, the display turns black, and is no longer functional. I perform around a dozen resets, both with watch buttons and app. The watch was fully functional prior to rinsing. The only display I get is the 0% battery warning. After charging, the screen only lights up black.

Very disappointed all it took to wreck this watch was a little splash of water.

If there is anything else aside from performing resets, I'd like to know what else can be done.

Thanks.
