Ionic won’t turn on after trying to update.

My fitbit Ionic won’t turn on or respond to its buttons after it tried to update yesterday. It was working fine all day when after work I decided to update the watch using the ios app. As usual it was taking a while to download and install it so I let it be and do its thing. Checked it after an hour or so, now it won’t turn on. Tried all the hard resets with pressing the buttons but still to no avail.

Is this a common thing for fitbits? Just asking because my dad and wife also has fitbits and I’m worried that their devices might have the exact problem should they update.

Thanks!

Got an email regarding my fitbit and the response is so unsatisfactory. It seems that the company is not taking any responsibility for the damaged device when it was their suggested update that has caused the the device to stop working. I mean, clearly if there had not been any update then my device would still be working. Saying that I am disappointed from their response is an understatement. This is not the response that I was hoping to get from a company as big as fitbit.

@Krypton33 Thanks for getting back. I appreciate your feedback regarding the option you were given by Fitbit.

It is particularly difficult when the device is no longer covered by the warranty, but even though Support is eager to help with any problem you may experience with the product, they do need to adhere to the official warranty policy, this would start counting from the original date of purchase.
