Ionic won't turn on or take a charge

the ionic glitched during a shower so I took it off and thought it might be because it wasn’t charged enough so I plugged it in after 10 minutes (the screen would turn on then) but after it wouldn’t turn on I tried the two and three button restart and factory resetting and nothing worked. I tried anything I could think of and it’s still not turning on what should I do.

@DaryaRasooli Welcome to our Fitbit Community. I totally understand how you feel about your Fitbit Ionic since it won't turn on or take a charge. By the way, thank you for trying to get it resolved before contacting our forums.

I would like to know if your Ionic vibrates when you put it on the charger. In the meantime, try the troubleshooting steps that are listed in this help article. This article contains steps that you already tried but you can skip them and proceed with the rest. Finally, charge your Ionic for 2-3 hours and see if it comes back to life.

Thanks for the reply. No the watch is completely unresponsive and doesn’t vibrate or blink any lights.

I went through the article you listed and tried everything again but nothing changed. Thank you again for your help

I am having this same problem.  I have had my current Ionic since May 2019 and other than one reset I think it was working pretty well up until the middle of August.  I started getting the "not enough power from the charging source" message, then I put it on the charger one night when I went to bed and it was at 78%. When I woke up about 7 hours later it was at 58%.  I wore it for another day or so, and kept getting the inadequate power message when I tried to charge it.  I tried overnight again when it was at about 38% and the next morning it was at 23%.  It died later that day and now it won't even vibrate or anything when I put the charger on it.  I have cleaned all of the contacts with alcohol and tried two different cords on several different USB power sources, and it does not respond to anything.  (I tried different options when it still had some charge also, so it's the Ionic and not the charging equipment.

My first Ionic lasted about 11 months before it died.  This one did better, lasting about 25-26 months, but that is still not very long for a $300 product.

Do you have any recommendations for resurrecting an unresponsive Ionic?

@DaryaRasooli that article doesn't even bother to mention the most likely culprit, it's dirty. humans are gross and shed skin cells constantly, they clog up the little battery contacts. An electric toothbrush from the dollar tree and 99% isopropyl has brought back dozens of Ionics for me from the dead. Actually, my tip works on all Fitbits.

@BradBredenkamp did you use 99% isopropyl? You'd not specified and it makes a difference. With multiple problems, I'd highly suggest considering one of their extended warranties that covers everything from batteries to breaks, it's a small add-on when you purchase a new Fitbit. I've had better luck sometimes with aftermarket cables instead of the ones that come with Fitbits, which is really weird as with other Fitbit trackers it's the opposite. Without charging alternate Ionics with your cables/plugs how have you definitively determined it's the tracker? Why are you paying so much for them? I bought 15 of them for $75 recently. They were supposedly dead, I've been resurrecting them with 99% isopropyl and an electric dollar tree toothbrush 🤓
