My ionic won't turn on after I shut it down. I hold down the large button on the left and nothing. And it won't charge either. Am I doing something wrong? I haven't even had it for 24 hrs

Tried all that and it still doesn't work. I'm going through the rigmarole of the scripted dance with customer support that just wastes my time by directing me to the 'turn on/off/restart' guides on your site - which I've already tried. I'm out of warranty and will not accept the expected offer to spend more of my money on a replacement item at a discounted price - as clearly there are design and quality issues. I think I'll be off to Samsung or Garmin.... whilst most Fitbit staff will be off to the employment agencies because your customer base is deserting you.

Well, Fitbit have gone up in my estimation. They sent me a replacement Ionic pebble.

I tried your fix of pressing all 3 buttons for 20 seconds, but still nothing. Anyone else have another fix I could try?

My ionic has been trying to charge for the past three days. no charging symbol. cleaned the ionic and the charging cable. I tried the holding down the buttons trick.
I am panicking because i love this device so much and im so gutted since my friend have recently invested in one two and we can have comps
😞

I just turned off my Fitbit as I am trying to reconnect the connection to my phone and email as they stopped coming though - So I figured that maybe turning it off and then on again may help - Well it didn't.
It was charged at 85% - Checked it before I turned it off. I also charged it nothing happened.
What else do I need to do? Why doesn't it turn back on?

Was there ever a resolution for this? Mine is doing the same thing. Tried holding down various combos of the buttons, but nothing has worked. My screen is still black, doesn't respond (vibrate) when I charge it, and can't be found when trying to sync. Please advise

Hi. No this was never resolved. I was told by customer service that I would not be getting a follow up investigation or resolution to my case number. This is my 4th and final Fitbit. You never tell customer that they will not get follow up call. Why give a case number if you will not follow up. I guess it is done to make customer feel important. Surprising why Fitbit does not want tracker back for evaluation. They send out firmware updates which are actually a virus to kill Fitbit. I have now had 2 Ionics which failed under firmware update. Good Luck !

i thought mine was not responding too, i just found out it was fully charged when i boot up my ionic watch, maybe that is why it is not responding to my charger every time i tried to plug it in. I found out the my only problem was i do not know how to properly to turn on my ionic watch. Then i just found out you just need to hold the single button from left and the lower right button at right. Then woala! it turned on. Just hold it for 10 secs.

Yep, mine too. Completely useless device. Only 6 months old. Have tried all the “remedies” and nothing will make it turn on. Contacted support and haven’t heard a thing.

This is just a workaround (the left / bottom right combo is supposed to force restart the fitbit in case it hangs).
Before the latest firmware release, the left button has been working as the method to turn on the watch after it has been properly shutdown. Hopefully with the next firmware release things will be back to normal.

Have already tried this also. Will not turn on. Will not charge. No workaround.

Hi Ande6, Nothing I tried worked. I did all the recommended steps, and then tried other things such as holding all three buttons in at the same time for 60 seconds. I went back every couple of weeks just to see if it would charge and/or start up. No luck. I may try lighting a prayer candle or maybe voodoo. I'm definitely done with fitbit! I got my ionic for half-price through my employer at the time, which is the only reason I'm not as angry about it. Good luck! ~Anne

Im with you, Anne. Loved my first fitbit, lasted for ages. The ionic is too problematic.

You can chalk one more up to the list.
Mine did the thing yesterday. I am one of the lucky ones that after several attempts at the restart button pushing sequences, it did actually start back up. After I ordered a replacement watch from Garmin.
Just another issue added to an already problem child product. I've been having the "not syncing because of not connecting through bluetooth" issue for months now. It will eventually connect and sync, but it's annoying that it refuses to stay connected.
It seems that all these problems are design flaws that have been with the Ionic since day one as mine has not had the firmware update since the initial one that I was forced to do upon getting it. Seeing others running on newer software versions and still having these issues means I am not going to risk Brick Mode by downgrading beyond version 33.1.30.
