Hi! I’ve had my Fitbit Ionic for just over a year and always workout with it. This morning I went to a spin class and suddenly, without warning, the Fitbit turned off and won’t come back on. I’ve tried charging it and resetting it and nothing is working. Any help would be appreciated, I’m absolutely gutted because my Fitbit has been such a great tool in losing weight.

Hi @Jagannathan! I'm glad to see you here in the Forums. Welcome @clatham92 your comments are very important for us.
@Jagannathan you did a great job performing those specific steps. Let's check during the week how your Fitbit works and if you need more help you can try the suggested steps in this post.
@clatham92 thanks for posting all the details about the issues that you're having with your Ionic. Sorry to hear that your Fitbit is not responding. You probably miss a lot all the features and help this provides to you. I'll be my best to help you out with this.
First of all, I'd suggest to clean the contacts of your Ionic. These contacts can become obstructed by microscopic dirt or debris that prevents them from making a good connection to the charger. Use a toothpick or toothbrush to clean the charging contacts, do not scrape them with anything metal because this may damage the plating and result in corrosion.
Please try to restart your Ionic again. How are you changing your Fitbit? We recommend plugging your charging cable into a USB port on your computer or other low-energy device. If necessary, you can use a UL-certified USB wall charger. Don't use a USB hub or battery pack to charge, and only use the charging cable that came with your tracker. Did you have issues before with the charging cable?
Please take a look of these recommendations to charge your Fitbit too. If this is not working please let me know.
Let's give it a try and please keep me posted.

I am also facing a similar problem. I have been a user of my ionic for 1.5+ years. Got it as a gift in conference. But it just suddenly stopped working yesterday but I was able to turn on and then factory resettled since my HR was not working. But again today it stopped working again and does not turn on. Tried pressing back and left bottom key for 3 mins and no use. Please help.

Mine died today too! It was purchased August 2018 and I can’t believe its shelf life is so short (determined after reading so many other’s posts regarding the same issue). I’ve cleaned the contacts using a tooth pick dipped in rubbing alcohol and still no life :(. What can Fitbit do to resolve this issue?

Hi,
My fitbit is dead and not restarting at all.
Please help to fix the issue. Even recharging doesn't help, the watch is not turning on at all.

Thanks all for your answers! It seems strange that a few have decided to die over the weekend.
i would recommend talking to Fitbit customer support for assistance if it’s not turning on. Mine was completely gone with condensation on one of the sensors, Fitbit asked for a photo and then advised me they’ll send a replacement as it shouldn’t have happened. Yours may be resolved in the same way or they may be able to offer further assistance!

Epic fail for Fitbit. I contacted customer support and since I was out of the warranty timeframe (received watch as a birthday gift in August of 2018) there was nothing that could be done. BUT I was offered a 25% discount if I wanted to purchase a Versa... 😠

My ionic just went black as well, my wrist vibrated and then when I went to look at it all I had was a black screen. Since it has been unresponsive. Got this for my birthday in April 2019, so disappointed in its performance.

Get used to Customer Support being unresponsive. My first Ionic died with just a few days left on the warranty. I was lucky. I noticed in the forums that there were a number of customers had theirs fail around the same time. I received my replacement Ionic only to have it fail the same way just a few days ago after about 9 months. As other people have said, all I get from Customer Support is a 25% discount to buy yet another $250 item that will fail again in less than a year.
Read the forums... Versa users are having similar problems.

Would like to know how this was solved too. My Ionic had 47% battery during it's last sync then shut off. Now not able to bring it back with a reset. also has been charging for a couple days but nothing. Any other ideas?
