Iphone 8 and Ionic. bluetooth, got it working

I am having trouble connecting with Bluetooth.  My app syncs with the Ionic but I can't get notifications etc.  When I click on little square top right hand side, and look at settings, it doesn't even show Bluetooth.  I have shut down both phone and watch still no luck.

Suggestions please

Nice to see you around @ChrisM26661! Thanks for already troubleshooting this inconvenience with your notifications, nice way to go! Robot Very Happy

As you mentioned that your Fitbit App is syncing with your Ionic but it is not getting your notifications, I'd like to check some options with you.

  • If you go to the Fitbit App > Account (upper right corner, little square) > Ionic > Notifications > on You won't see the option Bluetooth there, as they are already connected.
  • But if you go to the Bluetooth setting on your phone, you will see your Fitbit Ionic as connected device.

To make sure that your phone will receive notification please check the following things:

Please go to your phone settings once again and make sure "Do Not Disturb" is disabled. If your phone is currently running iOS 11 or later, please go to your phone Settings > Notifications > Fitbit and make sure the following is enabled:

PS: The “Show in History” was wrong with mine. I had it turned off and that's why I wasn't getting my text notifications.

If this doesn't work, my best recommendation would be resetting Notifications through the Fitbit app to also reset the connection between the tracker and the phone.

To reset Notifications:

  1. Go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone, then check if your tracker is on the list of paired devices. If it is, tap on it and select Forget this Device.
  2. Restart your phone
  3. Open the Fitbit app and tap on Account > Ionic > Notifications.
  4. Enable Notifications and when you receive a pop up asking you to pair your tracker and your phone tap on OK.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else! Smiley Wink
