Ironic registering hundreds of incorrect steps every second and no HR

My ionic which I’ve had for just over a year has suddenly started recording hundreds of steps every second - so far today I’ve apparently done 126,000 steps and burnt 10,000 calories - definitely not correct!! It’s also not recording a heart rate either. I’ve done a factory reset THREE times now, with no change in the result. I’ve updated the app, the watch firmware, and trawled every forum to find a solution. This is ridiculous, for such an expensive watch to start malfunctioning so badly after only 12 months is so ridiculous. Has anyone had this issue and resolved it? Or will I need to send it to Fitbit for replacement?

I have the exact same issue and suddently after the malfunction the battery gets drained in under 1 day.

Mine is doing the same - and it’s almost exactly a year since I got it... ie as the warranty is about to run out. Suspicious much?

Mine is from 29. August 2018 so not a year yet. 

 

But I have 2 years of warranty.
