Is Ionic recall email from hawkmarketplace legit?

I am getting mixed signals here. This appears to be legitimate, but I called 888-240-2819 and I get two different messages; one the email is a scam, the other is that it is "associated with the recall center." I don't think that answers my question. Is this a legitimate email associated with the recall of my Ionic?

I too received a reminder from @sedgwickbp.com saying if not already logged into PayPal to accept refund then please do so within 30 days. It would be good to know which are genuine or not with different domain names being used. I already claimed mine a while ago before receiving this email too. It contains an unsubscribe link and is listed in multiple languages. I'm ignoring this email until I get confirmation. Never click on links you are unsure of.

Did they confirm if an email from hawkmarketplace is legit or not? I just received an email for my refund from them, I am also confused if this is SPAM or a legit refund email.

Best Answer

Can someone please contact me about this situation? Why do I need to provide information and sign a long legal document to get the refund your company owes me? I was expecting a card in the mail that I could use for whatever I wanted, not something that requires usage online or for me to interact with a company I know nothing about. I don't want to "shop online"--I want to be able to use the card in whatever way I would like. As far as I can recall, the registration process never described the prepaid card as virtual or only usable online.

Hi--please see my message replying to prost22 above.

I too received an email from fitbitionicrecall@hawkmarketplace.com about a gift card.

Why not post on the forum instead of requiring a PM as to whether or not this is legit?

Best Answer
Oh gosh, sorry, I thought I did post in the forum. As you can see it was my first post and thank you for letting me know. I do not know how I did that…

Absolutely you did!  I was referring to the mods above saying they'll respond via PM.  Why not help everyone at once and post the answer?

Does anyone have the Terms of Use for the Virtual Prepaid Card?  Called Customer Support and they gave me a website for B4B payments, but got an error code 404 (Sorry, we can't find the page you were looking for).

Do you have the Terms of Use for the Prepaid Card?

Best Answer

Hi @MP1978 the terms and cardholder agreement are a 10 page document that appears on the card registration page—if you have the email from hawk marketplace, you will see it before you have to provide them w info.

Thanks LizzyFitbit, that's all I wanted to know, is if the email I received from fitbitionicrecall@hawkmarketplace.com was legitimate and not a PHISHING attack. So here goes, time for me to claim the refund!

Best Answer

Looks like you can request a physical card to be mailed to you, after you claim the refund and visit the website.  You can also set a PIN code.  I called my local Apple store and explained everything, they said to bring in the card information and they will try to manually enter it, as long as I can show my ID.  The card does show my name on it.
