I went for a run yesterday and wanted to display my time elapsed (top), heart rate (middle), and distance (bottom). The Ionic only allowed me to change top and bottom data fields. Middle was empty and I wasn’t able to change it. Anyone else having this issue?

That's how it's supposed to work. You can't set the middle stat to a fixed item. It's the one that loops through everything during a workout.
My workaround was this. I set the top and bottom stats to what I wanted, and then when I start my workout, I loop through the middle stats to get to want I want to see (this is usually my current pace) and then just leave it. It will stay on what you chose until you change it again, even if the screen goes off.
It's a little annoying but nothing major for me and the workaround works fine.

To quote your own post, that’s not a workaround, it’s how it’s supposed to work 🙂
I haven’t tried it but you could always turn off all of the other middle stats in the list then you’d probably get the one you want every time. If you want the ability to step through the list then this won’t be a lot of use, of course.

I had no idea that I could uncheck things like that. That makes it way easier.
So then all you would have to do is is set the top and bottom stat to what you want. And then for the middle one tap on it and uncheck everything but the one you want to see. That should work like a charm. And then the middle one wouldn't have any thing to cycle through, so it would always show what you want it to.

Unfortunately that “unchecking everything besides HR” doesn’t work. Still nothing shows up as being listed on the previous screen once you make those changes. Frustrating as I must know my HR while I’m exercising.
So when you are in the settings, that middle stat will still show up blank even when you only have one selected. But when you actually start the workout there is only the one you selected shown for the middle stat.

Did this work for you? I also just recently started having this problem. My pace always used to be the largest middle icon which was perfect because it was easy to see at a fast glace. Now suddenly I have nothing showing in the middle

Um….4 years later. I’m not using that device any longer. I can’t even remember which device it was with this issue. Sorry.

Oh I'm sorry! I'm new to using forums and I didn't think to look at the date. Thanks anyways though!

No worries! Good luck. I’ve loved Fitbit over the years but I’ve had some heart issues and I’ve seen in my case their wrist HR accuracy to be very inaccurate for me. If they allowed for an external chest strap to connect, problem solved. But they can’t seem to figure out the HR accuracy (in my case) and still don’t allow external HR bands/straps, I had to move along. Also I wanted an Ionic 2 but that never came to pass. Best wishes!
