Is it possible to transfer music without Fitbit Connect?

Hi all.

Very frustated FitBit Ionic user here! I'm on a MacBook Pro with Cataline installed and cannot, as with so many other users, sync my FitBit through my Mac.

The primary reason I wanted to do this was to add music to my device. Is there a way around this, or a way to add music without using this software which clearly isn't fit for purpose.

Thanks in advance!

Matthew

@matthewi Welcome to the Community. Sorry for the delayed reply.

I appreciate the time you took to share your experience with transferring music to your Ionic. I see where you're coming from.

At the moment, the only option to transfer music to your watch will be downloading Fitbit Connect and follow the procedure in this article. Could you let me know the error message that you receive when you try to install Fitbit Connect on your MacBook Pro?

Keep me posted.

The link for the fitbit connect app does not work, what is the deal?  This is my 2nd day with my new Ionic and I am getting pretty frustrated.

@IainGunn   There seems to be a bad link for Fitbit Connect.  Make sure you are using www.fitbit.com/setup .  The bad link seems to end with "/start".

@matthewi   Many users have noted that Fitbit Connect doesn't seem to be compatible with Mac OS Catalina.  To add insult to injury, Fitbit Connect uses iTunes to transfer music.  iTunes has been replaced by Music.  The instructions for transferring music files don't apply.

@SilviaFitbit  Is anyone trying to get Fitbit Connect to work with Mac OS Catalina?  Or is aware that iTunes has been replaced by Music?  Or have all of us Mac users been left out of putting our personal music on our devices?

@matthewi   I re-read your post and I have an update for you.  First, you don't need to sync your Ionic with your MacBook in order to transfer music.  In fact you can't.  If you have downloaded Fitbit Connect, please ignore everything about the sync dongle and everything else that is greyed out.  Choose the Manage my Music section.

I am also a Catalina user.  I revisited the transfer music Help article.  It was updated to include Music, in addition to iTunes.  I have my music on my Versa 2!
