Hey everyone,
Just wondering if there was a way to record you bpm levels while you're sleeping so it can be reviewed when you wake up? My girlfriend has Afib and it would be very beneficial for us to be able to track her bpm while she's sleeping.
Hopefully there's a way and someone knows about it. Thank you!

Maybe it's just me, but clicking on the sleep tile, regardless of whether we're talking about the online dashboard, or the Fitbit app on my phone, there is no heart rate data. That said, both the dashboard and the phone app have the data available.
For the dashboard, the daily activity tile can be set to Heart (the heart shaped icon) and Daily:
For the phone app, simply click on the heart tile, select the activity for the day in question, and you'll get a graph which looks like this:
Note, the above two images are not from the same day, I just put them in because I already have them in my Fitbit saved photos bucket.

You can view all the heart rate data within the app. You will be presented with a graph which you can expand and then select any point to view the data, from there you can check what your HR was during your sleep.

For some reason I can't seem to find that. I click the heart button in the dashboard but it only gives a chart for resting heart rate, cardiac fitness and minutes in heart rate zone. I can't find the chart that you're showing in the picture

It’s not under the heart, it’s under the sleep info, then scroll down to the relevant day (night) and tap on it
edit sorry typed before I looked at @N8teGee picture. Too hasty. I would give some better guidance and pictures but my Ionic is in the middle of a firmware update.

Ok, firmware update done. To expand on previous posts, if you click on the heart, then scroll you’ll find This Week, Last Week, and earlier traces of recorded heart rate. Click on the day you want and it will show the appropriate record. Clicking the expand icon in the top right will, er, expand the trace to show night time HR.
Hope that helps

@NewtothebitI have found the App HR is not to the level I require, too coarse for what I'm analysing. So I create a Custom Activity, and use it via the exercise tile in the App because that gives you the calories for the time period automatically. When you tap on the Exercise tile, you then tap the stopwatch with the + and then tap Log Previous and enter the Custom Activity name.. IT MUST BE created on the PC first and then synced to the phone... .
This is the result for a nights sleep where I have analysed sections. This is an older image because today there is a bug and I cannot view this type of activity on the APP or the PC... GPS are OK. That is from all of my browsers so I will worry about that later. I can view one from a week ago,

Assuming the person wears the tracker 24 x 7 except for those duration where wearing a tracker is impossible, you can retrieve the data using APIs. For non computer programmers you can use the fitbit data retrieval facility vide url https://www.squashleagues.org and export data to a spreadsheet. You can then do whatever you want to do with the data. If you are a premium customer you can go to any day or at least a fair amount of history. I myself came to know about this url through a post here. I wish I can recount the name for due credit to him.
Almost all available trackers can warn of Afib but they can't do so as it pushes them into a different domain which is regulated. Apple's iWatch and Kardiaband combination supposedly awaits approvals in this domain.

I think that may be your problem then...you're not tapping the correct tile. Have you tried looking under the Sleep tile? That's where all your Sleep info is stored, including Sleep Stages, which used your BPM when you sleep.

@DramaQueenDiva Not quite right. You can see your HR during periods of sleep by tapping on the heart in your dashboard if you then scroll down and tap on the relevant day, upon which the larger trace, as shown above, appears.

I'm checking the sleep tile aswell but it's only showing a chart for the sleep stages (rem, non-rem etc)
Are the Fitbit apps different between devices? We're Android users

This wonderful Community keeps us up to date. @Venkats I also use the Squash League when I want a detailed analysis of my HR.
Surprise, surprise.. Fitbit have created an average of one plot every 0.76 seconds for today's plotting... Correct.... which in my case is a plot for every heart beat. I'm checking my missing heart beat, when this occurs it has a couple of quick catch up beats. All passed by the cardiologists. Born with it.
Here is a 30 second graph from this morning. So the Custom Activity helps me because the Phone Graph is only every 5 minutes/plot. There is 39 plot points in this graph. a few weeks ago it was only 22 points/minute and last year about 9 points/minute.
It appears Fitbit are catering for the future release of HRV and Apps on the Ionic. I use HRV measurement via my Polar chest strap and the Elite HRV App on my Android.
