Is there any way to corect the extra steps I get from lawn mowing, which is about 50% extra?

When I mow my lawn, my fitbit identified the activity as outdoor bike.  That was easy enough to correct.  I deleted that activity and entered Lawn Mowing for the same time span.  But I also accumulated 45 minutes of steps at about 50% extra.  I suspect this is from the jolting of the mower handle.  Is there any way to correct the unearned steps from this time period?

You can log the time as "driving" for that time and it will negate any steps during that time period.

@MomBee Welcome to the Fitbit Community! Thanks for sharing the situation you are experiencing with steps while mowing your lawn.

Just as @Jrdubyakc said, you can delete any extra steps by manually logging an activity as driving. Please check this post for more details on how to do this.

Also, those extra steps are being tracked because of the vibration of the mower. If this keeps happening, you could try taking Ionic off while doing this activity and then manually log it.

Hope this helps. Keep me posted! Smiley Happy

Unfortunately, I do not want to delete all the steps.  Nor do I want to do this activity without tracking.   This is a walk-behind mower, not a riding mower, on a half-acre yard.  This is thousands of steps.  I also don't do the same section of the yard each time so I do want to track what I walk - not some generic number.

I counted 50 steps and looked at the Ionic, and it had recorded 75 steps.  It usually tracks very close to my actual steps.

there’s no way to just delete  “false steps”,  but If you feel like you know how many steps are false, perhaps you can log driving for a portion. So if you feel like you’re getting 25% extra steps, log driving for 15 minutes of every hour you mow.
