Issue after swimming in salt water

My ionic worked great this morning until I went to the beach. I went in the water on and off for 3hrs. The Fitbit ionic is about 16months old. I had no issues with it being in water. (At my job it’s always getting splashed)  and the ionic is currently not working. About an hour ago the screen would light up but not display anything. Now it doesn’t turn on when plugged on the charger. What can I do? 😫 should I upgrade to the aria that’s suppose to be waterproof also right?

** update: I’ve left it on a charger for 45mins. I ended up taking it off the charger due to the fact of the actual ionic heating up and causing me to worry of possible fire risk. Upon looking closer at the ionic. I have noticed condensation by the sensors under the plastic. And currently have it in a bag with rice.
