I today I was wearing my ionic with no issues. Then all of a sudden it went black. I looked to see if there was an update and there was but said failed. I tried a restart without being plugged in and with being plugged in, no dice. Any help is appreciated!

Thank you for your suggestion. Tried and no luck

You have to hold both buttons for quite awhile. Mine did the same thing.

The suggested method worked for me: Iconic: simultaneously press the left button with the lower right button, and hold until the Fitbit emblem comes on, in your display will show

Mine did exactly the same.  Fitbit has been on charge and was fully charged. Put it on my wrist and after an hour had gone black.

would not power on at all.  Placed it on the charging cable and it stated that battery was empty.  Will not charge.

This is my 4th and last Fitbit.  2 x Surge and 2 x ionic.  All have had battery problems.

will never buy again.  Having a premium product and no way of replacing a battery is completely unacceptable

I had the same thing happen to me yesterday.  Was working one minute, then seemed to turn off.  I attempted to hold different combinations of buttons and saw the fitbit symbol a couple of times, but now do not see anything.  Have had it charging since yesterday, and no luck turning it on.  Purchased 7/7/19 so less than a year old.  Attempting to chat with someone now, will update with any solutions.

Update.  I chatted with a specialist and they walked me through different troubleshooting steps.  Unfortunately, my Fitbit would still not turn on.  Fortunately, it is still under warranty and they offered to send a replacement or 50% a new model.

Not only have the Ionic but also the scales.  Will not use Fitbit again.  Really is poor quality.

I think mine is just over a year old so won’t be covered by the warranty.  The problem with the surges that I used to have was the straps which were not replaceable.  Upgraded to the ionic.  Both ionic watches have had battery problems.

Same problem here , it happened yesterday,  my ionic screen just went blank and it wouldn't charge either,  but I just red your suggestions and yes,, you have to hold the left and right lower button for at least 30 seconds, I tried before for about 5-10 seconds and it wouldn't do anything,  but today I refuse to let go and it's working and charging perfectly,  Thanks
