Latest Firmware update is draining battery in 2 days

Good morning all,

I have been always impressed about the battery life of the Ionic. 5,5 days without charging is awesome.

But last week there was a new Firmware update and now it is completely drained in 2 days all of a sudden. Anyone having the same experience? I could not find anything on the forum yet.

Regards, Luc

Hey @SunsetRunner, it is great to see new faces around! If the battery of your Ionic isn't lasting as expected, I would like you to take a look at the tips in this help article: Can I improve my Fitbit device's battery life? If the issue persists after following those tips, let me know.

I'll be around!

Hi Heydy,

improving battery life tips??

yesterday evening I completely charged the Ionic and now only 24 hours later it is drained already to 24%. This was before the last update only after 5 days. I don’t know what happened there but I don’t like.

Igot my Ionic for a year and half now. It is not okay for sure

Thanks for your reply @SunsetRunner! There is a couple of things that I'd like you to try:

- Fully charge your Ionic

- Restart it

- Sync it

Please sync your Ionic constantly during the day, this is to help you out to determine how fast the battery is draining.

Keep me posted!

Hi Heydy,

I even did a full reset, meaning the 12 seconds 3 button, 2 seconds 2 button method and completely started from scratch with the Windows app and Bluetooth connection.

unfortunately again it gets drained way too fast. After 12 hours down to 70% by just and only wearing it. Meaning it will be completely empty in a day and half. Again what used to be at least 5 days.

Not tracking with GPS, not playing music (all of that is gone of course due to the hard rest). Just wearing and actually during sleep.

I have a bit more info though as I also have the feeling the charging is happening must faster as well then I experienced before. Could it be half of the battery cell is gone ?

I would be pretty annoyed if this expensive watch is broken after not even having it a year and half.

Hi Heydy,

After doing several tests last week a final report came out the analyzing the guys from support did.

They have started now a warranty action as it is a unresolvable problem.

I'm very pleasantly surprised to receive this level of customer service that can be described in one word... outstanding or exceptional or awesome or you can find a couple yourself:)

According the latest mail, the replacement is underway….

When i update it never finishes and kills the battery on the watch. I have no solution. When it recharges I'm not going to update and then test how long the battery last and just use it with the old version of firmware.
