As I am handicapped and must hold on when on treadmill I found that my Ionic works best with it attached to my ankle when on a treadmill. I had a Samsung 6 and when I viewed my Fitbit app it showed my steps constantly increasing. Was great as I could see my step count and achieve my daily step goal.
Contract on Samsung 6 was finished and was encouraged to purchase a Google Pixel 2. No issue till yesterday when I went to use the treadmill I noticed it doesn't do this. Been outside walking most this summer.
Is it my settings with Fitbit or this phone don't allow. I can pull down to manually sync but it doesn't seem to live step update. As its attached to my ankle it is to difficult to see. So I change the phone display setting to 30 minutes. No increase unless I manual sync. I also notice no heart rate on the screen like it did with Samsung 6.
I am hoping its a setting that I've not configured. Any ideas or direction would be appreciated.

Hey there @Madade, it's nice to see you around the forums! I'm afraid to say that the reason why you're not syncing or seeing your stats in real time is because the Google Pixel 2 is not compatible with the Fitbit app.
Note that the devices on this list have been confirmed as fully compatible with all features of Fitbit devices and the Fitbit app. While a phone or tablet may not be verified as fully compatible, the Fitbit app may still work with your device.
Our team routinely test new devices to ensure full compatibility with Fitbit devices and the Fitbit app, and are constantly working to confirm compatibility with new phone models. Be sure to verify that your phone meets the minimum operating system requirements. Note that the majority of Android phones running version 4.4 or higher will work with our products.
If your phone supports Bluetooth 4.0, I'd recommend giving the sync troubleshooting steps a try to see if you can successfully connect your tracker. You can also check the article: Can I see real-time data in the Fitbit app?
Please keep in mind that when a device is not supported we cannot guarantee its functionality with the Fitbit app. It might work at a certain time and then it can stop working out of nowhere after an update. This is because the app is not optimized to that device and any change could impact the performance.
I'll be around if you need further assistance!
