Hi,

I have a cochlea implant which can be affected by magnets in certain devices - does anyone know if there is a magnet in the Ionic watch

This would be helpful to know before I buy one

Thanks

Ian

I would agree and say no there isn't. There is a magnet used to attach the charging cable to the Ionic, but the magnets are in the head of the charging cable and not the Ionic unit.

Thanks for your reply - I think you are right and although my One works fine its always good to have a second opinion

I bought a Misfit Shine fitness tracker a few years ago and that really affected my implant so I would like to be sure this time

I realize the thread is marked "solved", but I have some input.

I would recommend you contact Fitbit Support on this, as they may have to do some research on their end to answer the question fully. Since this involves possible interactions with a medical device, I wouldn't feel comfortable with answering the question. I just don't know enough about the sensitivity of implants, and health is too important to base decisions on reasonable assumptions.

Wouldn't the vibrating alarm count as a magnet when activated?
