Manual Sync activity via WI-FI instead of Bluetooth

Blue tooth syncing of activity of Ionic is coming ridiculous - at first I thought it was fix with a replacement - but now activity only appear to work if I shut the Ionic down and restart and also most of time need to restart the device - which is a Galaxy Tab S3 -  I have a Note 8 but with flakiness of Ionic syncing,  I don't want it on my phone.

Knowing that Blue-Tooth is low power and wi-fi is more taxing, here is a solution - have a manual button on the Ionic to fire off a sync on Ionic - and also button on device - and sync information using the wi-fi network.

One thing if Samsung comes up with Gear watch - hopefully S4 - that has REM sleep detection  and stages of sleep detection,  Ionic and Fit bit - will be gone from me - primary because of this issue.

I think the problem you are having is related, at least in part, to your tablet, which is not on the Supported devices list. I have a tab S2 (also not supported) and though it works, syncing with the Ionic and Versa is rather flakey (tho it works fine for my flex 2 and Alta HR). I see your phone IS supported so syncing may well work better on that device. Why not give that one a go and it might solve your problems. My supported phone (S8) works much better than the tablet with the smart watches.

@henry1948the S7 should work with the Ionic.

Steps I would do

Check for Fitbit app updates.

Restart tracker

Restart phone

Remove the tracker from the phones Bluetooth menu

Now try to sync the tracker.

Or set it up if it was removed from the account.
