Hi, @SunsetRunner, this is available to you on the Ionic. Go to your app and click on your Ionic icon. On the next screen scroll down to "exercise shortcuts". You are allowed 7 shortcuts. If you already have 7 you must edit to delete one of the shortcuts that you do not use, or don't use often (you can always update your shortcuts).
If you have 6 or fewer then you can click on + shortcut / add shortcut. Scroll down to elliptical and choose that. Be sure to click save/ done.
Next, sync your Ionic. Elliptical will not be available to you on the exercise screen.
Please post again if anything is unclear. There is always someone here to help.

This is great, i looked on here and i thought these were the only 7 that you could have. ive added walk and also stair climber and elipitcal. perfect! i may have found a bug though, they really dont want you to delete run. i now have more then 7 installed in the list anyway.... i only see 7 on the screen of the watch, bit this is a huge help! thank you
Best AnswerDo far when using it it's been accurate for calorie burn against what machine says. Tracks above sometimes, never below. Steps however. I don't get many show, so I think u need the arm movement to get that up
Best AnswerThis has not been working for me - wondering if anyone is getting a reading on the elliptical or similar exercise machine?
Best AnswerI use this profile today, but decided to get more from cross trainer I should move my hands. It upped the intensity and in 55mins I had 6,700 steps!
Best AnswerI’ve found the only way to get the ionic to count steps on an elliptical where hands don’t move is to put the watch in my pocket.
Best AnswerBut when I put it in my pocket it doesn't always document active minutes. 35 minutes on the treadmill yesterday and nothing. 30 minutes outside and it documented it all. Same pocket
