Extremely disappointed with Ionic .. main reason I chose this was for pay feature. Was going to buy an I-watch as have many other Apple products but like the fitness side of a Fitbit. Was not aware when purchased this product no major UK banks were supported and when asked the question shortly after purchasing was told they would be coming soon... It's now been over 9 months and still no indication of when they may be added. I have been in contact with Fitbit since and they have flatly refused to return the product for a refund as it falls outside of their returns policy. I truly believe this product is being mis-sold and should not be available for sale in the UK until at least one of the major UK banks are supported. Do not buy any of the Fitbit products for the pay feature if you live in the UK as you will not be any use it unless you use one of the obscure banks that I have never even heard of.

Hi there,
I have recently purchased the ionic and am disappointed by lack of support from UK banks. I was under the impression that I would be able to use this feature, it was a major selling point for me as it is shown in the promotional video. The ionic is only slightly lower in price than the apple watch and am considering returning it based on the fact the UK is so far behind the US in terms of consumer support for this product.
I purchased the device from a major UK retailer and it was not obvious that this feature is only limited to 4 UK banks, only one of these being a major bank. It is unfair to expect customers to open a new bank account just so that they can pay using their Fitbit.
Are there any plans for increasing the availability of this feature for the UK market?
Many thanks.

It's great to have you on the Community @Moomins and @Dragonprawn. Your feedback and comments are appreciated, this helps Fitbit to continue improving the services that are being offered.
If you would like to have any bank to be added to the list. You may want to vote for the ones that are already posted in our Feature Suggestion board or post it if it's not there. Those are reviewed by our engineers and developers and the best of this is that people can vote and comment to support it.
Your patience and understanding while more banks are added is appreciated.

Must admit I've set an account up with Starling just to use Fitbit Pay, whilst I won't use it as my first choice bank but its a good app/bank and worth a go.

Hi Silvia
I have just bought the Fitbit Ionic and I too was missold this device as nowhere in the sales pitch did the sales person tell me that this devices pay service will probably not work for me due to the poor coverage in the UK. I only found out when I had already got the device home. To be completely honest I probably would not have bought it and gone for a different device. So now i have the dilemma of trying to return it which is not garanteed or I will have to wait for fitbit to oganise decent coverage in the uk. Could you please give us a timeframe as to when more banks will be added to fitbit pay? Are we talking months ? The responses on here have been very non committal. I would say the majority of people buying fitbits with pay funtionality in the UK will be very upset. This needs rectified or your advertising should specify that the pay function is very limited in the uk and will not work for most

A warm welcome to the Community @Dozjones. Your feedback is appreciated, we're always working on adding new features based in your comments.
Currently, I can't provide you with a timeframe about when more banks from UK will be added. You can post the bank that you would like to be added in our Feature Suggestion board and the status of the idea will change based in Fitbit's plans.
Let me know if you have any additional questions.

It's mid 2020. There's still virtually no high street banks supported in the UK. Clearly this customer base is of zero importance to Fitbit. Do not shift the burden of responsibility on to the consumers, it is for you the producers to have these relationships in place when the product is sold. It is not realistic to expect people to change their banking habits to suit their watch, but it is reasonable to expect that with a 2 year period Fitbit would have solved this.
