Went to replace my Alta hr and got an Inspire Hr. When I add it to my account that already has an Ionic it removed the Ionic. When I add the Ionic back it removes the Inspire. Then when I tried a third time to add the additional Fitbit I realized it asks “do I want to switch devices” but it doesn’t give up an option other than continue or you don’t add the device. Why is this happening?

Sorry, but

quoting from Can I use more than one Fitbit device with the same account?

Note that you can't connect multiple devices that use the Fitbit App Gallery to one account. For Fitbit Charge 3, Fitbit Ionic, Fitbit Inspire series, and Fitbit Versa series, only connect one of these devices to your account at a time.

So you can have your Alta HR with one of the Ionic or Inspire HR.  But you cannot have the Ionic and Inspire HR (or Charge 3 or Versa series) together.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
