I use the music controls all the time to control the music on my android (s10) phone. After the latest update, I must repair the ionic classic Bluetooth everytime it goes out of range or between sessions. It doesn't auto connect any longer.

Mine does that too! So annoying. I reported it weeks ago and mine still isn't working.

I am having this issue as well. I can get my ionic to connect to my note 10 in the pairing mode, but there is no way to change the setting from pair to "on" without cycling through the off setting , which forces me to have to re-pair again. If I leave the setting on pair, I can use the controls for about a minute and then the ionic will default back to "music controls off". I used to use this feature constantly while out walking. Now it is unusable.

Brindel,
That is my experience as well. Seems like it works in pair mode, but not 'on'.
It really messed me up because I was teaching a dance class the day after I got the update and couldn't use fitbit to control the music like I had planned.

I have the exact same problem. Samsung Galaxy S10 plus and Fitbit Ionic and after the fitbit upgrade, I can no longer control my music on my phone because Fitbit disconnects from my phone. Contacted Fitbit support and they told me they can't honor my warranty because I bought my watch from ebay. What does this have to do with their update breaking the music controls on my phone? Doesn't make any sense and I'm going to continue to post on their Twitter page until they fix this.

I agree. How is that a warranty issue? I don't think it has anything to do with hardware. Mine stopped working with an update also.

Same problem here. Please fix this fitbit!

Had the same issue, was really getting frustrated with having to keep repairing the connection.
Decided to try a factory reset.
Ionic reset and only updated to the previous version 27.33.1.30
Music control with Bluetooth classic is working perfectly. Reset it Saturday and it's now Tuesday night, no sign of the update which broke it so that's a good thing, mind you I was enjoying some of the new features.
Hope to see another update to fix this Bluetooth issue soon.

I guess I should find my receipt and see if they find some lame excuse to not help me also.

Thank you! I was able to reset to the same build number as you and my music controls work again! 😁

Glad I could help.
Trying to contact support to raise this myself, of course my Ionic is over 12mths old but they still need to provide support.
Having issues with live chat not working for me and I don't use twitter.
I could email but that will be too slow.
May have to signup for twitter if the live chat doesn't come good for me.

Hi, i to tried factory reset several times. For some reason it finally reset to the previous version. Yay! Don't know why! It is my husbands watch as i have sold mine now and bought a Samsung galaxy watch because of fitbits slow speed to rectify problems and their flat out refusal to allow chest heart monitors (or make their own, which would make them millions!) . I find heart rate measurement during intense excercise very unreliable. Fitbit, i am sooo done!

@Tamsyn How do you like the galaxy watch? Is the heart rate monitor somewhat accurate? I've been really contemplating buying one. Can you download music to it? It appears only the bluetooth version is available.

Hi, I've only had it five days so far. The battery only lasted a day which wasn't good but after research it seems it improves with first few charges. I've charged it three times and the battery percentage seems to be going down very slowly now. Heartrate seems very accurate even when I'm doing intense excercise. Just was a bit low on calorie burn during workout up to wahoo tickr x but i put it in circuit training mode, going to try "other workout" today which is supposed to calculate calories from heartrate instead of set calories per time working out. I'll update after that. You can download music to it and it seems to work perfectly, also controlling it on phone. So far i love this watch! It's gorgeous looking and everything (notifications etc..) works perfectly. Also a nice extra is when connected to phone through Bluetooth, you can answer and talk through the watch and answer and send messages from watch by typing or voice. Great!

I can see the update again this morning. Placed fitbit on charge and giving it another go, if the Bluetooth issue is still there I'll try a reset again. If it bricks I believe I took out an extended warranty when I purchased so will try that route.
Here I go.

Updated to 27.68.9.15 again and Bluetooth issue is still there.
I suspect there is something in the Bluetooth code in this firmware to be more aggressive in saving power.
Only thing is there seems to be no pattern to it.
About to reset again.

Update.
Ok reset is completed,
Note that this time it reset to the latest version again so I think resetting back to an old version was down to luck and the staggered roll-out they seem to do. If I try a reset in a few days time I may get the older version again, more likely I am now stuck with 27.68.9.15.
Having said that the Bluetooth music control is now working, the only difference is I the first 2 times I set the left button long press to music control, this time I left it at the default of payment/wallet.
Will leave it set this way and post an update later, so far so good.

So far so good, Bluetooth Music Control is rock solid on 27.68.9.15 (well until it drops out overnight).
This works for me on Galaxy note 10, Android ver 9.
What I do.
Notes #
This is not a perfect solution, it's a work round. There is a bug that won't let the Bluetooth connectivity work correctly if music control is currently selected as the left button action.
Hope this helps
