Hi

Mine seems to be OK now. I make sure the battery doesn't completely deplete, and wipe the charging element before charging. Fingers crossed !

Kind Regards

@Tango777 Welcome to the Fitbit forums! Thanks for sharing your experience on this thread. I'm glaf you are getting a replacement. I'm sure that one will work properly for you.

Feel free to follow these replacement set up steps for you to not loose any of your previous data.

@Realistic It's great to see you in the Fitbit Community! Thanks for trying the restart steps in order to sort this out. It's unfortunate to read that the replacement failed. Have you let customer support know about this? You can use the email interaction you have with them. They should offer you a solution.

@SantiR,  Thanks.  Your link, https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1190 , is the best solution probably for everyone. If it is not charging 1. Clean the contacts, both sides.  2.  Try a different charging source (some have had better success with a low amp (laptop) charging port  3. Make sure the connection is on right (fiddle with it a little) and it is dry.  4.  Reboot it while it is on the charger.  5.  If all else fails call customer support.

Plugging it into the computer and then pressing all of the buttons at once brought it back up.

@Sharoneoo try this even if it does not look like it is charging. Put it on charge. Then restart the Ionic by pressing the left hand and right bottom buttons until the logo comes up (if it doesnt come up, keep pressed for 15 seconds), then wait 5 minutes (leaving it on the charger) and repeat the restart. Do this a few times and see if the screen comes to life. If it doesnt you will need to contact supporg - link in my signature. Let us know how you go.

Thank you this worked for me!!!

Lucky you, it was not the charging circuit failure. I tried with my two
failed units all these tricks for couple of days. In a couple if weeks, or
months, the trick will not work, and the watch will go "memento mori"....

Make sure it is not your charging block. Plug it into a different charging
block and see what happens.

My Fitbit iconic will not charge on 0% and I’ve tried shutting down, holding buttons n it still will not charge, I’m sick of this Fitbit 2nd time this happened, wouldn’t recommend this to anyone!

@SantiR@NellyG I went through your steps and read this thread and all the comments but unfortunately, didn't work and now Ionic is completely dead. I have the Ionic for 3 months now and I got used to it and I could return it to Amazon by the end of next week but I don't want to give up on the product as I think it has very good features and functions. Since the last post here has there been any other way to "wake up" the watch?

I did but the resolution didn't work for me!

I suspect that something in the latest update (or maybe an update to an app) has bricked a lot of Ionics.  The forum is filling up with similar stories.

Your best option is to return it to Amazon and buy another one to receive a full warranty.  Replacements from fitbit won't have warranties.

It was a gift n I have no idea where they got it, and can’t get in touch with them

I was able to return it to Amazon as it was one week left from the 3 months warranty time that I had with Amazon. I will get a replacement for the defected one. I know not everyone is so lucky!

I could have received the full refund from Amazon but I wanted to give it another try!
